About Home Daycare Tools
Free, accurate money tools for the 98,000+ licensed family child care providers in the US — and the many more who are license-exempt.

Home daycare providers do some of the most complicated small-business math in America: an IRS formula (the time-space percentage) that exists for almost no other profession, a federal food program with two rate tiers and daily claim caps, and tuition pricing with no industry price list. Yet the top search results for these questions have long been forum threads, government PDFs and paid spreadsheet downloads.
We built the tools those searches deserved:
- A time-space percentage calculator that follows IRS Publication 587, including the exclusive-use room rule.
- A CACFP calculator on the official USDA rates, with claim limits applied automatically.
- A tuition calculator that prices from your costs and the income you need.
- Licensing guides for every state, because starting legally is step one of everything else.
How we keep numbers honest
Rates come from primary sources — USDA Food and Nutrition Service rate notices and IRS publications — and each calculator page names its source and the period it covers. Rates are refreshed when the agencies publish new ones (CACFP every July; IRS figures with each tax year). If you spot a number that looks wrong, tell us — accuracy is the whole product.
Our new logo & brand colours
This is the logo now live across the website — in the header, the footer and the browser icon. Three happy children under a blue house roof, a coral heart at the centre and a sunshine-yellow sun: home, care and a brighter daycare, in one mark. The tagline says it plainly — Simple Tools for a Brighter Daycare.

Built with Next.js — not PHP, not WordPress
This site is a Next.js website, deployed in Next.js static-export mode. That is why the files you receive look like plain HTML/CSS/JS: static export is the output Next.js itself generates — ready-made pages with no PHP, no database and no server-side rendering to run.
On hosting it goes up through Hostinger’s Web App option — the same way TryURL.in was deployed — and sits behind Cloudflare’s free CDN. Because every page is pre-built, it stays fast and easily handles 50,000 visitors a month on the existing hosting plan, with no extra monthly cost.
Every page listed on the sitemap page is live with its own URL in the deployed build.
